Celebrities are not generally known for having long and conflict-free relationships. In fact, the marriages of many famous athletes, actors and other celebrities are so short-lived that they are most accurately measured in weeks or months, not in years.

In the case of one famous Florida couple's marriage, days appear to be the most accurate unit of measurement. Earlier this week, the wife of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson filed for divorce following an alleged domestic violence incident. The two have been married for just 41 days.

According to news reports, the two got into an argument over the weekend when Evelyn Lozada confronted Johnson about a receipt she had discovered for a box of condoms. After continuing to argue on the car ride home Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada while in their driveway.

She was treated at a local hospital for cuts on her head. Earlier this week, Lozada announced that she will be filing for divorce. In a statement, she said: "It is my sincere hope that [Chad] seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well."

This was just one of many damaging pieces of news Johnson received following his domestic violence arrest. One day after the incident, he was cut from the Miami Dolphins. The couple's pending reality TV show called "Ev & Ocho" has also been called off.

Celebrity marriages are often short-lived, and many onlookers wonder why certain famous people chose to get married in the first place if they weren't willing to put in the effort. However, alleged domestic violence is indeed a serious matter, and many may view Lozada's decision to leave as courageous rather than capricious.
